Many organizations and agencies in Maryland provide ongoing support to young children with disabilities and their families. In this section, you will find descriptions and links to some of these support services.

Family Support Services
In each local jurisdiction in Maryland, parent coordinators (parents of children with disabilities) and professionals work together to provide family support services through the public school system. These services consist of three different program components: Family Support Network (FSN), Preschool Partners (PP), and Partners for Success (PFS).

Abilities Network provides customized services to families, adults, and children of differing abilities that focus on one-to-one supports to foster broadened, more inclusive communities through education, training, and advocacy.
Caring Communities is a non-profit organization that provides disability-related training, education, publications, and events for the benefit of children and adults with disabilities, their families and caregivers, as well as healthcare and education professionals.
CMS: Children's Medical Services, sponsored by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, provides resources to families who need help paying for specialty services and medical care.
Disability Resource Monthly (DRM) Guide to Disability Resources on the Internet aims to promote and improve awareness, availability and accessibility of information that can help people with disabilities live, learn, love, work and play independently.
Maryland Committee for Children (MCC) provides information pertaining to the identification and selection of child care providers. It offers families no-cost support and resources as they navigate child care options available to them.
- LOCATE: Child Care contains information on all regulated child care in the state of Maryland. Parents can obtain referrals to regulated child care facilities available in their neighborhoods or near their workplaces.
- MCC provides free Special Needs Service to any family who has a child (age birth through 21) with a special need. See also, Servicio Especial en español.
Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s Family Support Services offers a variety of support services for families of children with disabilities.
